"I am a simple Swiss amateur photographer who studies Energy & Environmental Systems Engineering.
I started loving photography since I was more or less 10 years old. At the time, I was asking my parents for a camera but they never wanted to buy me one, therefore I often mimicked the distinct sound of the shutter while thinking "at least I can take the picture in my mind." Then my aunt gifted me my first camera: a compact Olympus.
After more than a decade since then, I little by little improved my knowledge about photography, starting from the science behind how optics and sensors work, up to learning how to frame shots to make them more compelling to our eye.
The best part I love about photography is that you can never reach a point where you can say "I'm done, this is my peak." Whenever I go out to take some pictures, I always learn something new: sometimes about the framing, sometimes about how I can change the natural scene, sometimes how I can be more creative. It is one of the most beautiful aspects of this unique activity.
Comparing my small improvements day after day makes me competing with myself to take the better shot than the previous one, in an incredible race of emotions and experiences.
I hope this competition will never end, and why not: maybe you are inspired to start your own. That would be even more wonderful.
Thank you."
